Jahn 234 II (of II). Signed, dated, inscribed and titled "Meinen Reisegefährten gewidmet. Gezeichnet auf einer malerischen Reise von Salzburg nach Berchtesgaden im August 1818" on plate. Strong black impressions on firm wove paper, with margins of ca. 15 mm around platemark. 24,5 x 30,2 cm (9,6 x 11,8 in). Sheet: 27,4 x 33 cm (10,8 x 13 in).
With illegible museum stamp (?) (not in Lugt) on verso.
The people depicted are Klein's travel and painting companions Friedrich Philipp Reinhold, his younger brother Heinrich Reinhold, Johann Christoph Erhard and Ernst Welker (from left to right). [CB].
