Signed and inscribed “ Holzschnitt (Handdruck)” on the backing board. On fine paper, mounted on gray backing cardboard. 31.2 x 16.4 cm (12.2 x 6.4 in). Backing: 40,7 x 26,8 cm (16 x 10,5 in).
Registered as number 10 in the artist's catalog, where it is also listed under the title “”Dame mit Mädchen” (Lady with Girl). [AR].
• Early color woodcut, unique in character due to its monotype coloring.
• Rare. One of only very few copies on the international auction market.
• Part of an acclaimed private collection in Berlin for almost 40 years.
• Another copy from the estate of Nina Kandinsky is in the collection of the Centre Pompidou, Paris; two other copies and the only known trial proof are in the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus, Munich.
