Steilküste und Sonnenspiegelung. Um 1922.
Oil on board with canvas structure, mounted on panel.
Soika 1922/50. Lower left barely legibly monogrammed "HMP" and dated by a hand other than that of the artist. 37.2 x 48 cm (14.6 x 18.8 in).

• Atmospheric depiction of an evening at Pechstein's much-loved Baltic coast in an unsual image detail.
• Nature and life in the remote Pommeranian fishing villages Rowe and Leba were a great source of inspiration for Pechstein in the 1920s.
• Other Leba views from the same year are in possession of, among others, the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, the Deutschen Bank Collection, Frankfurt/Main, the Stiftung Moritzburg, Kunstmuseum des Landes Sachsen-Anhalt, Halle, the Chrysler Museum of Art, Norfolk/Virginia, and the San Diego Museum of Art, San Diego/California
