During the Paris years, Kunitzer's works gained in coloristic sensitivity and the primary colors incresaingly became part of his hitherto dark palette. The present still life, which is one of the few surviving paintings from a period of crucial importance for the artist, was created during his stay in the French capital. [EH]

In good condition. With a very few isolated, expertly retouched spots visible only in ultraviolet light. The condition report was compiled in daylight with the help of an ultraviolet light and to the best of knowledge.
