• During a yearlong stay in the US in the 1950s he met leading heads of Abstract Expressionism like Marc Rothko, Robert Motherwell and Barnett Newman, and was intensively occupied with Kandinsky, whose theory regarding immaterial aspects of painting would influence him strongly
• In 1959 Piero Dorazio participatd in Documenta II in Kassel.
