Lower left signed and dated. Inscribed "Liegende" on the reverse. On firm off-white watercolor paper. 34.6 x 43.1 cm (13.6 x 16.9 in), the full sheet.
The same year Heckel printed a slight variation of this drawing as a lithograph (cf. Ebner/Gabelmann 448 L). [JS].
• From the heyday of the "Brücke"-Zeit.
• Rare depiction of Kirchner and the young Fränzi (born in 1900), the most important "Brücke" model.
• 1910/1911: Heckel, Kirchner and Pechstein drew and painted Fränzi at the Moritzburg Ponds and in the Dresden studio.
• The work shows an adjoining room of Kirchner's Dresden studio with his wall design of flowers and lovers.
• With fascinating Indi ink accentuations.
• On display at many important German museums.
