With the estate stamp of the Kunstmuseum Basel (Lugt 1570 b) and the hand-wriiten registration number "B Be / Aa 31" on the reverse. There also titled by a hand other that that of the artist. On brownish paper. 33.5 x 44 cm (13.1 x 17.3 in), size of sheet. [EH].

• Powerful drawing made on the island of Fehmarn in the summer of 1912.
• Remarkable drawing by E. L. Kirchner of the coast of Fehmarn with its large ice age rock formationes.
• E. L. Kirchner's art saw a decisive development during his stay on Fehmarn.
• The same year he also made the painting "Ins Meer schreitende Badende" (Staatsgalerie Stuttgart).
