• Early large-size work in which the artist addresses the natural process of bvecoming and decay in a mystic-abstract style on a black ground.
• "Welkende Blüten" anticipates key aspects of Winter's important series "Triebkräfte der Erde", which was regarded the recommencement of abstraction after WW II.
• Works of a similar quality from the 1930s are extremely rare on the international auction market (source: artprice.com)
.

PROVENANCE: Galerie Günther Franke, Munich.
