• At a young age, Mack, the great "ZERO" artist, overcame the traditional understanding of art with new design principles and ideas and made light and movement the core themes.
• Light also sets the tone in his paintings: Mack breaks down the spectral colors of light in all their diverse nuances.
• After Mack initially abandoned painting in 1963, he only revisited it in the early 1990s and from then on devoted himself with great intensity to pure colors.
• In the work offered here, the artist combines strong colors, a strong light-dark contrast and the geometric shapes of rectangle and triangle to create an exciting composition.
• In 2021, the Museum Kunstpalast, Düsseldorf, showed a grand retrospective of his work and this year the Osthaus Museum in Hagen dedicates comprehensive solo exhibition soloely to his paintings.
