Schapire 57. Signed, dated and titled in the lower margin. One of just a few hand-made prints. On creme wove paper. 40 x 34 cm (15.7 x 13.3 in). Sheet: 55 x 41 cm (21,6 x 16,1 in).
Released as annual "Brücke" bonus in 1909. [JS].

• From the best "Brücke" period: In 1906, Schmidt-Rottluff was, together with Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Fritz Bleyl and Erich Heckel, a founding members of the Dresden artist group.
• Rare hand print. Only 5 other copies have been offered on the international auction market to date (www.artprice.com).

In good condition. The wide margins with isolated faint traces of printing and rubbing, partly from the making. Corners and sheet edges partly minimally bumped and soiled. Upper left corner with a slight diagonal crease. Sheet edges consistently bordered with mounting tape on the reverse, minimally pushing through to recto in places.
