Adagio und Fuge in c-Moll für 2 Violinen, Viola und Baß. Selten, Haberkamp nennt nur 7 Exemplare in öffentlichen Bibliotheken. Auf den internationalen Auktionen der letzten 30 Jahre wurden lediglich 3 vollständige Exemplare angeboten. - Der titelgebende zweite Satz Fuga Allegro basiert auf der 1783 von Mozart komponierten Fuge in c-Moll für 2 Klaviere (KV 426), die Anfang 1788 bei Hoffmeister in Wien erschien; Mozart selbst schrieb wenige Monate später das Arrangement für Streichquartett oder Streichorchester, und stellte das neu komponierte Adagio als einleitenden 1. Satz voran.
EINBAND: Eine lose Lage und 3 lose Bll. (unbeschnitten). 32 : 24 cm. - KOLLATION: [3], 2, 2, 2 S. mit gestochenem Titel und gestochenen Noten (Plattennr. 159). - ZUSTAND: In den Rändern stockfleckig, recto in den ob. Ecken mit hs. Numerierung "166" von alter Hand, erste Lage (= Titel und 1. Violinstimme) in der oberen Ecke mit Papier- und tlw. Notenverlust durch Mäusefraß. - PROVENIENZ: Titel unten mit hs. Besitzvermerk "K. Zappe": evtl. Karl Josef Z., 1812-1871, Linzer Violinist und Domkapellmeister (also solcher zeitweise direkter Vorgesetzter von A. Bruckner), gründete 1842 mit seinem Streichquartett die Linzer öffentl. Kammermusikabende. - Zuletzt süddeutsche Privatsammlung.

First edition of Adagio and Fugue in c-minor (KV 546), an arrangement for strings by Mozart of his composition Fugue in c-minor for 2 pianos (KV 426), completed with a new original composition, the introductionary Adagio. Rare complete copy with all 4 parts; Haberkamp lists only 7 copies in public libraries, and there are only 3 complete copies to be found in international auctions for the last 30 years. - Loose sheets with engr. title and engr. notes (plate no. 159). - Margins foxed, recto in the upper corners with ms. numb. by an old hand, the part of the 1st violin (2 ll., incl. engr. title ) with some rodent damage to upper corner, with loss of paper and partly of the score. - Title at the bottom with ms. ownership entry "K. Zappe", probably Karl Josef Z. (1812-1871), violinist, Domkapellmeister at Linz cathedral (and as such for some years supervisor of Anton Bruckner), 1842 founder of a string quartet.
